“Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.” John Lennon
Many an opportunity has been missed because people were too busy with their head down just trying to get through their day, week, month or year. All of sudden they have ended up on a different course to the one they imagined they would follow a few years before. How did that happen they might wonder?
It is important to always review your progress and direction in life. Set goals on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Review your goals regularly and change course if needed. Life is always throwing up new challenges and potential disruptions. However, if you are keeping on top of things and looking to the future you are far more likely to anticipate what may arise and possibly see more opportunities that may be coming your way.
As you go through university it is really important that you constantly assess your progress and keep your mind open to future opportunities. Not only will this help you as you near the end of your studies, it can help you plan for the next stage in your academic or professional journey. Maybe you will spot postgraduate opportunities that your classmates have missed or a graduate job in your dream organisation. Keep planning, keep dreaming and, of course, keep working hard. It is sure to help you on your way to success!
